Big data industry: New engine of Zhongguancun

The 2017 Zhongguancun Big Data Day was held in Zhongguancun Science Park on Dec 12 to promote the integration of internet, big data, artificial intelligence and the real economy.

The event attracted nearly 400 experts, renowned scholars and business leaders to discuss digital ecology in five areas: national administration, AI, regional economy, industrial equilibrium, and capital empowerment.

The highlighted topic of "How can the real economy develop faster with AI and big data" gathered experts including Yang Jing, founder and CEO of AI Era, Tan Chang, head of Big Data Research at the Institute of iFLYTEK, and Sun Bin, senior director of iQIYI.

The Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance and Beijing TalkingData Tech Co Ltd jointly released the "Demonstrative Application of Internet of Data", which can stop websites from storing personal privacy data and also meet the requirement of China's network real-name system.

Liu Hang, deputy inspector of Zhongguancun Science Park's administrative committee, introduced that Zhongguancun has now achieved a big data industry of over 70 billion yuan ($10.58 billion). A complete big data industrial chain has also been formed in Zhongguancun as a strong backup of infrastructure information resources and big data security.

Liu added that Zhongguancun will develop big data industry as a breakthrough for emerging industries with a focus on big data application and business mode innovation.

During the event, several big data companies took an oath based on the Industrial Self-regulation Convention of Zhongguancun Big Data Industry Alliance to establish a self-regulation mechanism in the big data industry and promote its healthy development.
