Chongqing's companies set up 18 subsidiaries in 11 countries of the Belt and Road Economic area in the first half of this year.

The investment destinations included Israel, Russia, Thailand, Burma, Sri Lanka and Singapore.

The investment volume of Chongqing's contracts signed with the area this year reached $ 370 million, 24.7 times the volume of the same period of 2015.

Chongqing established 15 companies in another eight countries this year.

Fifty-two percent of the investment came from state-owned enterprises, signaling their continuing strong momentum in direct investment.
