Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) handled a total of over 120,000 inbound and outbound passengers on July 12, hitting a new record for a single-day's passenger numbers since the airport opened.

As super Typhoon Chan-hom weakened, PVG resumed hundreds of flights collectively which were delayed or cancelled on July 11. In addition, the summer travel peak fueled the passenger volume at the airport.

According to the statistics, PVG served more than 640 aircraft movements and 12,000 passengers, consisting of 57,000 inbound and 64,000 outbound passengers on July 12. Terminal 1 recorded a total of 49,000 passengers and 72,000 people traveled through T2. Besides, peak hours of the two terminals also expanded considerably from 7:00 a.m. to 1 pm for morning peak and 5 pm to 11 pm for evening peak.
