4. Wander around Du Fu Caotang, the site of the thatched cottage where Chinese poet Du Fu lived and wrote during the Tang Dynasty (618 to 907).

5. Walk around the lusciously green People's Park with its lakeside pavilion tea houses, where you can sit and have your ears expertly cleaned, or sip a cup of tea and stare into the distance, or join the locals in a friendly game of mahjong.
