Armed men in Armenia seize police station, demand politicians' release

An armed group with links to an imprisoned opposition leader on July 17, 2016 seized a police building in Yerevan and took hostages, the national security service said. On July 17, 2016 morning "a group of armed men entered the premises of a police regiment in Yerevan and is holding hostages under the threat of violence," Armenia's National Security Service said in a statement, while one of the gunmen said the hostages included the country's deputy police chief.[Photo/VCG]
