'Modern Marco Polo' plans museum in Inner Mongolia

Adriano Madaro, Italian journalist and writer, is one of the foremost world experts on China. Over the last 33 years, he has made more than 200 trips with long stays in China and also visited the nation's most remote regions, which won him the name of "Modern Marco Polo".

In January, Madaro made his fifth visit to Inner Mongolia, 13 years away from the previous one. This time he cooperated with a local entrepreneur named Qi Baoting to start their plan on building an archival museum of Marco Polo, a famous Italian who travelled around China for 17 years and spread the Chinese customs to the West in the 13th century AD.
