'Role model' team shares how it's protecting juveniles in Chongqing

Chongqing procuratorates' juvenile protection work team, which was named Role Model of the Times, shared their stories?during an event at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sunday.

The event was jointly organized by the Communist Party of China Central Committee's Publicity Department and the Political and Legal Affairs Commission, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee.

At the event, six representatives from the team shared touching stories of their contributions to safeguarding the rights and well-being of juveniles. They emphasized that protecting minors requires both the strength of law and the warmth of humanity, ensuring that every case helps build public trust in justice.

Before the event, Chen Wenqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, met with the team's representatives.

The team from Chongqing has long upheld the principle of protecting minors through law and conveying social warmth through love, making significant contributions to the healthy growth of minors by advancing the prevention and management of juvenile delinquency, Chen said.

Chen called on all political and legal institutions nationwide to learn from the team, and urged legal professionals to faithfully fulfill their duties of safeguarding national political security, maintaining social stability, promoting fairness and justice, and ensuring that people live in peace and contentment.

Established in 2004, the team began with a single juvenile rights-protection post. Over two decades, it has grown into a network of 45 rights-protection posts with more than 500 members. The team handles cases involving minors and provides comprehensive protection for children's lawful rights and interests.

Guided by the belief that "wishing every child to grow up better," they have used legal expertise and compassion to create a nurturing environment for minors and contributed to improving governance efficiency in child protection.
