There are extraordinary working coalitions of governments, private sectors and civil society groups working together around action and different areas, she said.

There is real emergency of scientific consensus and extraordinary agreement on the economic approaches that can speed up the implementation towards low carbon growth and resilience development, she said.

"None of that would be as positive as it is without the positive and action-oriented position of China," Kyte pointed out.

China's respective agreements with the United States and France and China's discussions with other major powers all send a very clear signal that China is part of the international community, she said.

It also shows that "China understands the extraordinary nature of the challenging journey it faces in the future and wishes to share its experiences," she added.

On Nov 2, President Xi Jinping and his French counterpart Francois Hollande issued a joint statement on climate change, vowing to promote a working program to accelerate pre-2020 efforts in mitigation, adaptation and support during the Paris climate summit.

They called for a better transparency system to build trust and confidence in the Paris pact, as well as means to review the actions and support of various parties.

In September, a joint statement between China and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to reaching an ambitious agreement in 2015 that reflects the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities.
